To the Readers:

This book entitled iMath 8: K to 12 Curriculum Series is published under iBook Publishing,
Inc. It comes into the series of Kinder to Grade 10 following the competencies of the K to 12
Program prescribed by the Department of Education. The features built in this book will help
every learner acquires the important skills and concepts they needed. Each topic is thoroughly
discussed and provided with numerous examples for better understanding of the learners. After
every lesson are activities that will assess how the students understood the topic.

Through this book and support of the teachers and parents, it is our hope that learning
mathematics will be exciting, enjoyable and effective.

Authors

Jaigie B. Lardizabal finished her Master’s degree in Mathematics
Education at Rizal Technological University. She earned her degree of
Bachelor of Secondary Education Major in Mathematics at Pasig Catholic
College.

As a teacher, she served sixteen fruitful years of teaching
Mathematics. She had twelve years of teaching at Pasig Catholic College,
a private institution. Presently, she is proudly serving her Alma Mater as
Grade 8 Math teacher in Rizal High School.

Some of the seminars she attended were the following: “Training for K-12 Teachers” held
in Ateneo de Manila; “Learning Effectively through Enhanced and Evidence-based Pedagogies”
and annual seminars held by the Mathematics Teachers Association of the Philippines.

She was awarded as an Outstanding Mathematics Teacher for the year 2015 of Rizal High
School.

Karen C. Flores graduated Bachelor of Secondary Education
Major in Mathematics in Pamantasan ng Lungsod ng Pasig. She
completed her academic requirements for Master of Arts in Secondary
Mathematics under the scholarship program of Mathematics Teachers
Association of the Philippines (MTAP) in National Teachers College. As a
member and recipient of MTAP Scholarship Program, she has been an
active participant in seminars/workshops conducted by MTAP and has
been a contributor for MTAP Instructional materials (for regular classes)
since year 2014.

She is currently teaching in Nagpayong High School (NHS) in the Division of Pasig City. She
had been a trainer and coach of students from NHS who joined and won in several competitions
in Mathematics. She also served as year level coordinator for Grade 8 and auditor of the NHS
Faculty Club. Currently, she is responsible for mentoring a small group of Mathematics teachers.
She was awarded as an Outstanding Mathematics Teacher for the year 2014 in the same school.
