Reading and Writing Money in Symbols and
in Words Through 100
OBJECTIVES
At the end of this lesson, the pupils are expected to:
— Read and write the amount of money in words and in symbols through 100
or vice versa.
— Determine the value of each bills and coins.
— Appreciate the value of saving money and spending it wisely.
In reading and writing the amounts of
money, peso sign (Php) is the symbol used for
amount in pesos and centavo sign (¢) is the
C symbol used for amount in centavos.

A A decimal point (.) separates the pesos
P from centavos. It is read as “and”.
